Another Great Festival!

Thanks to everyone who came to the best attended St Albans Beer Festival ever. We're still waiting on the exact admission numbers but it was well over 9,000 and we sold more real ales, cider and perry as well as foreign beers than ever before approx 34,000 pints.

See you in 2012 - 26th - 29th September. Book those days off now :-)

This years festival had two beer tasting competitions:

Hertfordshire Beer of the Festival  (blind tasting)

Gold: Red - Squirrel Porter 5.0%
Silver: Sabridgeworth - Malt Shovel Porter 6.0%
Bronze: Tring - Death or Glory 7.2%

Beer of the Festival

Gold: Oakham - Dream Catcher 6.9%
Silver: Castle - Rock Preservation 4.4%
Bronze:  Dark - Star American Pale Ale 4.7%

Thursday evening’s entertainment came  from local St Albans band Co-Jones who have built up a sizeable following in the area. On Saturday lunchtime we welcomed John Otway making his first solo appearance at the festival. On Saturday evening we once again enjoyed Nine Below Zero.

A write-up of the festival in our magazine Pints of View can be found at www.hertsale.org.uk
